Complexity of the tumor
micro-environment

 

Cancers are complex organs, that can comprise more than 50% of non-cancer cells, especially immune cells.

Techniques available today to analyze such complexity are limited by the level of multiplexing, the sensitivity or the data quality provided, limiting our understanding of the cancer tumor microenvironment and our capacity to provide better personalized treatment.

In this publication, the authors used MIBI technology to analyze 36 proteins in 41 triple-negative breast cancer samples and demonstrate an organization in the tumor-immune microenvironment that correlates with overall survival in TNBC.
